A Spanish doula in South Wales

About me

‘I am passionate about supporting women during pregnancy, birth and postpartum and creating communities so that new mothers feel less alone during the postpartum period’.

Doula in Cardiff

About me

Hi, I'm Pineda!

I am a mum of two wonderful children and wife to an amazing Dutch man who convinced me to leave my hometown Barcelona and experience life abroad. We landed in Cardiff in the summer of 2020, loved the area and decided to stay here to raise our children.

I am also a certified birth and postnatal doula who loves empowering women with emotional, practical and informative support.

I became a doula after my own experience of having my babies abroad, when I realised how beneficial it would have been for me and my husband to have had a doula with us!

Healthcare systems are different in every part of the world, but the needs of mothers and their partners are the same wherever you live. We all want support and loving care at one of the most important times in our lives. And doulas are perfect for this kind of support.

I consider myself a curious person who loves to learn. I am also sensitive, sometimes impatient and warm and friendly. I am amazed by the power of community, especially women’s groups, and I enjoy organising and holding circles of women becoming mothers.

I love being in nature with my family and friends.

My training

I became a certified birth and postnatal doula with Nurturing Birth in October 2023.

In January 2020 I started my postnatal doula training in Washington DC with Dona International, the largest evidence-based training and certification organisation in the US.

Further training and certifications:

  • Breastfeeding Fundamentals Course- Lactation Education. 2021
  • Postnatal Rebozo Massage and Closing the Bones Ceremony – Sophie Messager. 2022
  • Birthing biomechanics – Shellie Poulter, 2024.
  • Currently training as a breastfeeding counsellor.

I also have a Masters Degree in Psychology at the University of Barcelona and full experience in the field of people with Autism and learning difficulties.

I speak Catalan, Spanish and English.

My why

I have found my true calling in supporting women who become mothers in my work as a doula.

In a world where care is not valued and women do not receive enough support and respect, I want to help make a difference. I want to support women and their families to have the best positive experience.

Women and their partners are more than capable of navigating this time in their lives. As a doula, I will listen carefully and support you in whatever decisions you make. This is your pregnancy, your birth and I cannot make decisions for you, but if you need me to, I will signpost you to resources to help you make evidence-based informations. Feeling in control and empowered is the foundation of a good experience.

Giving birth is an emotionally, physically and psychologically intense experience, and I would like to be able to give you the support you deserve.

Let’s have a coffee together to talk and get to know each other.
